As the Advertising Self-Regulation Board (RÖK), in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, we launched the first “Responsible Influencer Training Program” on November 2024 and continued for every two months.
On March 2025, we have completed 3 face to face training session for influencers and 1 session for the industry professionals. At the end of 4 training sessions we’ve reached to 201 influencer with 100K and above followers and 103 industry professionals (advertisers and influencer agency representatives).
In the training program the Ministry of Trade provided information on universal consumer rights, the Consumer Protection Law, the legal regulations regarding social media advertising and the example cases. The tax inspectors from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance briefed the influencers on their tax obligations, key aspects of tax legislation, the legal framework regarding the taxation of social content creators and digital services and examined practical examples. And as RÖK Turkey, we provided information on the basic principles of responsible advertising, social responsibility in advertising, transparency, regulations regarding health&nutrition claims used in food supplements, regulations and prohibitions for cosmetic products, personal data protection in advertising and intellectual property rights.
The training program aims to raise awareness among influencers about the responsible creation of content and fulfilling their legal obligations.
While these training sessions have directly impacted 201 influencers and 103 industry professionals, their influence extends far beyond the participants themselves. Many attendees actively shared their learnings on social media, helping to spread awareness about responsible influencer marketing practices.
